Thornton Gym Club

 Welcome to Thornton Gym Club 

Thornton Gym Club was has been in existence for over 25 years and is based at Thornton Recreation Centre in Bradford. The club welcomes both boys and girls.

Originally the classes consisted of little more than recreational beginners' classes run by Bradford Council. However, the Head Coach at this time found that there was a huge demand for something more and competition classes were formed. The club has gone from strength to strength since.

The club now enters gymnasts into competitions at most levels in the Yorkshire Region - from Floor and Vault level to Advanced level. We also have an annual Club Championships in December each year, which all children participate in.

5. Each retailer has a slightly different level of donation (click on the "donation" button next to each retailers name to see how much) and a small selection of some of the exciting retailers you can use are listed below.

In 2006 the club  achieved Gym Mark status - an award given by British Gymnastics to those clubs it feels provide a safe, effective and child friendly environment.

The club trains in a gymnasium in the Thornton Recreation Centre complex. The club benefits from the following equipment:

• Vaulting table
• Traditional vaulting horse
• Asymmetric bars
• Several floor beams for training purposes
• 5 balance beams of various heights
• Floor area
• Sprung tumble track
• Trampets and springboards
