Thornton Gym Club

Below are details of the current Club coaches and the people on the Club Committee. We are always on the look out for new coaches and volunteers to serve on the committee.

Vicky is a qualified club coach holding both the Women's Artistic and General Gymnastics Club Coach awards.

Vicky was a gymnast at the club from the age of 6 until 12. At the age of 14 Vicky began coaching in Huddersfield where she stayed for 4 years. She then moved back to Thornton Gym Club in 1995 to help make the club more competitive in Yorkshire.

Vicky is also Chairperson of the Club Committee.

Nicola is a qualified Women's Artistic Senior Club Coach.

Nicola was a gymnast at the club until the age of 8 when she moved to a club in Huddersfield. Nicola was Yorkshire Champion at various levels during her gymnastics career, and represented Yorkshire at many National Finals. Nicola has coached at the club for the last 7 years during which time the club has achieved the best competition results in its history.

Nicola is also Secretary and Treasurer of the Club.

Katy has been involved with the Club for 15 years, first as a gymnast and subsequently as a coach. She is a qualified General Gymnastics Club Coach.

In recent years Katy has also worked closely with many schools to encourage the development of gymnastics in Bradford.

Katy is also the Club's Welfare Officer.

Jenny is a qualified Women's Artistic Assistant Coach.

Jenny was a gymnast at the club for 7 years before deciding to dedicate her time to coaching.

Several of our experienced gymnasts have shown an interest in becoming gymnastic coaches. They are currently assisting the Clubs qualified coaches with our younger gymnasts and hope to attend coaching courses in 2007.

Katy Foy

Katy is the club's Welfare Officer and Committee Member.

Katy was a gymnast and coach at teh club but now fulfils only the role of Welfare Officer. She has been trained in accordance with British Gymnastics guidelines to fill this position.

Alison Walters

Alison is vice chairperson of the Committee.

Alison is a parent of 2 gymnasts at the club and has been on the Club Committee since it was formed in 2004. 

Irene O' Hara

Irene is a parent of 2 gymnasts at the club and has been on the Club Committee since it was formed in 2004.
